Paradise books- made for the altar for the chapelle des penitents bleu in La Ciotat France.
I used the idea of the garden as a walled paradise and recorded the birds in my garden which I super imposed onto of each other.
This iteration was shown on long black tables in the altar space lit from underneath. The colours represent the peacock - a bird banished from eden for its beauty in some cultures. Each layer of woodcut adding to the complexity and illuminated manuscript idea of unintelligible marks .
