woodcut on paper
180 cm x 180 cm
2021

woodcut made from a recording made by a stream and small wooded area in southern France . The field recording was made at 5.30 am I used 40 seconds and slowed down the recording - using time lines to accurately copy the sonograms onto the wood. The grain of the wood plays a part in this visuality and takes the ink up and down - these interactions become part of the language of the prints. reversed and printed by hand the translucent paper allowed me in this iteration to mirror the language across the 180 cm dimension. creating a visual echo and scape of the song.
